Brush Up Buffalo issued a call for an additional 200 volunteers for its annual event on June 18 to help paint a minimum of 15 houses in the Kensington-Bailey neighborhood. Founded in 1996, Brush Up Buffalo is a not-for-profit, all volunteer organization that is committed to revitalizing neighborhoods.

For this year's event, approximately 40 people are needed to paint each house, with a total of 600 volunteers, individuals or teams.

No painting experience is necessary, but participants must be 18 years of age or older. All participants will receive a free T-shirt, as well as breakfast, beverages, snacks and lunch.

Volunteers are asked to meet at 7 a.m. June 18 at the Erie County Medical Center parking lot, 462 Grider St. A shuttle will transport them to and from the sites, where paint and supplies will be provided. The day concludes around 1:30 p.m. with a picnic lunch and entertainment at the ECMC parking lot. Interested volunteers can register at www.brushupbuffalo.org or by phone at 250-3353.
